Dr. Mark Cox
Dr. Mark Cox is a New Mexico native who graduated from the Colorado State University school of Veterinary Medicine in 1972. He built the El Abrigado Animal Clinic in 1989 and has been engaged in a private practice since.

Dr. Jim Humphreys
Dr. Jim Humphreys was raised in Chihuahua and El Paso. He graduated from Coronado High school, received his Bachelor’s Degree from UTEP and his Veterinary Degree from Texas A&M University. Dr. Humphreys practiced with his partner for thirty-three years at College-Garden Animal Hospital mixed practice in Roswell, NM. He moved to Las Cruces in 2014 and has recently joined his longtime friend, Dr. Mark Cox, at El Abrigado Animal Clinic.
Dara Pearce started studying hands on veterinary medicine in 2004, and in 2007 began her first job as a veterinary technician. Outside of work she enjoys photography as a photographic artist and traveling to rodeos, barrel racing. Through her experience and skills acquired in her professional career, Dara is able to maintain her own dog breeding business, raising miniature Australian Shepherds.

Blanca Cano is our receptionist/office manager. She has known Dr. Cox for many years and was happy to be a part of his team. In her spare time, Blanca rides with the Paso del Norte Escaramuza Charra. She is an animal lover of all kinds.

Bailee Robinet is a third year college student who graduated from Coronado High School in El Paso. She has been working at the clinic since the summer of 2006 as a veterinary technician. Bailee highly enjoys working at the clinic, learning and gaining needed skills and knowledge to pursue a Veterinary education. Currently she is attending Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM in pursuit of a degree.
