My dog Penny needed emergency surgery after becoming ill overnight. I had been referred to El Abrigado Animal Clinic from the work Dr. Cox does for our community during his quarterly vaccine drives. Let me tell you the best thing I did for Penny was coming to this clinic. Not only were her immediate needs met, but after a full assessment she also had some other heath issues solved that could have put her in worse health after her surgery. Every detail was explained to me and personal attention was given in our visit. When I called the clinic I was able to speak directly to Dr. Cox before and after the surgery. His office staff including Raul and Blanca were very helpful. All of this excellent care for a first time patient. Thank you El Abrigado!!

Fantastic Place & Staff

I had struggled in finding a new doctor for my baby Punky when her doctor of almost 10 years retired. I had visited several locations and they just were not a good fit. The minute I walked into Abrigado I knew this was the right fit for us. It was CLEAN, organized, and more importantly the Dr's and their team were great!! Everyone came out to meet with me and make Punky and I feel completely at ease. I am happy to say this will be Punky's new home for all of her veterinarian needs. :) Thank you Dr. Cox, Dr. Humphries, and team!

Review of Treatment 10/8/15

My yellow lab was bitten by a western diamondback rattlesnake while we were out walking in the desert. Fortunately, I had asked Dr Cox when I first moved to El Paso what I could do to protect my dogs from rattlesnake bites. Walking my dogs on leashes would keep them safe. That simply isn't an option for me. He told me about Crotalus atrox toxoid, the vaccine to give me time to get a dog to treatment. I was at El Abrigado less than 15 minutes after the bite. Everyone moved rapidly after I walked in the door. Within minutes, Joe had two injections. He stayed the afternoon. Dr Cox lanced the side of his face to relieve pressure. Joe will be on antibiotics and a steroid for a week. His face was horribly swollen for about 24 hours. We woke up this morning to find the swelling is gone. Joe got first class treatment, not because he's my dog. Every pet gets the same first class treatment.
